Service Process & Submission Requirements
Begin by submitting your order online, then mail your documents according to the provided instructions.
All services are performed through a structured mail-in process.
Apostilles are issued exclusively by the Colorado Secretary of State.
5280 Apostille Services provides document-processing coordination and logistics support only.
Shipping Responsibilities (Required)
Clients are responsible for mailing documents to the processing address and for providing required shipping materials.
Shipping labels (required): Orders require two prepaid USPS shipping labels:
(1) 5280 Apostille Services → Colorado Secretary of State
(2) Colorado Secretary of State → Client (return delivery)
Shipping flow:
Client → Processing Address: Mail original documents via USPS.
Processing Address → Colorado Secretary of State: Documents are submitted for apostille issuance.
Colorado Secretary of State → Client: Completed documents are returned using the client-provided return label.
Only USPS shipping labels are accepted. Private carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) are not accepted. 5280 Apostille Services does not generate, modify, replace, or upgrade shipping labels.

Colorado Secretary of State Fees
The Colorado Secretary of State assesses a government fee per document.
The current fee is $5 per document.
State fees are separate from service fees and must be included via check or money order payable to the Colorado Secretary of State.

Tracking, Delivery, and Risk Allocation
Tracking availability depends on the USPS service selected.
Priority Mail includes tracking; First-Class Mail may not.
Processing responsibility ends once completed documents are transferred to the designated carrier. Transit delays, loss, or carrier errors fall outside the scope of service responsibility.

Document Eligibility & Completeness
Commonly eligible documents include Colorado-issued vital records,
court-issued documents, background checks, academic records,
and properly notarized personal or business documents.
All documents must meet Colorado Secretary of State eligibility requirements prior to submission. Documents must already be notarized or properly issued. Incomplete or ineligible documents may delay or prevent processing.

Notarization & Legal Scope
5280 Apostille Services does not provide notarization,
legal review, legal advice, or legal representation.
Documents requiring notarization must be fully completed prior to submission. Responsibility for legal sufficiency remains with the client.

International Use & Hague Convention
Documents for Hague Convention countries receive an apostille certificate.
Documents for non-Hague countries may require authentication and additional embassy or consular legalization.
